Start with the decision you need to make
Before comparing portfolios, write down the problem in plain language. You may need to reposition an established brand, launch a new service or improve the path from attention to enquiry. These are different assignments. Ask each consultant how they would define the problem, what they need to learn and what they would deliver first. A beautiful campaign cannot compensate for an offer that people do not understand.
Look for the connection between strategy and delivery
Ask to see a project from brief to finished work. What did the consultant personally own? How did the message influence the website, design and content? My work spans these disciplines, so I value a brief that connects them. For a Delhi-NCR business, local knowledge can help, but it should support audience research rather than replace it.
Agree on proof before production
Choose a small set of outcomes appropriate to the assignment: qualified enquiries, completion of a booking journey or clearer understanding of an offer. Establish a starting point and decide who measures progress. Google’s people-first content guidance also offers a useful editorial test: will the work help the intended audience, even without search traffic?
Make the engagement practical
Agree on responsibilities, review rounds, access requirements and ownership of final files. Compare the proposed work, not only the fee. If you are searching for a top marketing consultant in Delhi-NCR, use that search as the beginning of due diligence—not as evidence of quality. A focused first engagement is often the clearest way to assess whether the partnership works.
